A big thank you to the club members who removed trail
signs this spring. As of April 1st. All trail signs had been
removed by the many volunteers of Women, Men and even
kids. Club members reported some farmers were in the
fields within days of the signs being removed.
Thanks again everyone!!
MnUSA
Larry Shepherd attended the MnUSA Legislative Reception in St
Paul as a snowmobiler representing our club and snowmobilers in Rice
Co. He met with Senator Jasinski and lobbied for the MnUSA Legislative
Agenda as follows:
● Sales Tax Exemption for grooming material, equipment and trail work. If
approved this would eliminate sales tax on materials for the Olson bridge we
plan on building this year.
● Winter user License plate which would be a joint venture with the MN
Coalition of Lakeshore Association and Clean Water Coalition. If approved
half of the fee charged for this license plate would go into the Snowmobile
Grant-in-Aid fund.
● To Protect the Dedicated Fund and Gas Tax (each represent about 50% of our
funding)
● To Support a DNR Policy bill pertaining to Unlawful acts related to
misrepresentation or fraud concerning snowmobile registration.

* Mid-March Snow Fall Brought Riders Out*

Thanks to Tony Balata for grooming the state trail and for all the
work he has done, local riders (Shane and Ryan pictured above)
in addition to many others including some from Mankato, New
Ulm and elsewhere got to enjoy ONE last ride. Our facebook
page received many compliments. Great Job Tony!!!
TRAIL REPORT
Tony reminded everyone to be sure to log their hours that you work
at the club club house. This is the documentation that the DNR will
look at to reinforce the grant is appropriately funded.
Tony reminded the trail workers to do due diligence and ensure that
our trails are consistent. Trail markings should show snowmobilers
where they are going and where they are to ensure safety.
Nate Shaw has volunteered to help maintain the club house,
thanks Nate!
