Youth Snowmobile Safety Training Course

The Faribo Sno-Go Club, in conjunction with the Minnesota DNR is once again hosting a Youth Snowmobile Safety Training Course. Students need to be age 12-15 by March 1st, 2022. The course requires successful completion of the online course work prior to the mandatory Field Day session. The online coursework can be found at www.snowmobilecourse.com or via the MnDNR website under snowmobile safety training tab. There is a fee for the online portion.

The students MUST complete the online course work and print the Certificate of Completion. The Certificate of Completion MUST be brought to the Field Day session. Students will not be allowed to take the Field Day portion of the course without it. NO exceptions.

The Field Day will be Saturday morning, January 15th. There will be 2 start times to choose from, 9:30am and 10:15am. As the students arrive they will check-in with their Certificate of completion and have a brief classroom session. A short 15 question quiz will be given to highlight different areas of the online coursework. After that they will move onto an overview of the snowmobile controls and complete a pre-trip safety inspection of a snowmobile. From there they will navigate through the driving course. Parents should plan on the entire Field Day taking approximately an hour from the time their student begins.

Students need to be pre-registered for the Field Day. Registration is via our website sno-go.org and clicking on the Youth Snowmobile Safety Training link. Please fill out the form COMPLETELY. We will be sending out an email to confirm your student is registered. Our class size is limited and every student MUST be registered. We will be sending out an email once we have determined a location for the Field Day. Due to lack of snow the location may not be determined until midweek January 11-13. It is preferred that the students bring their own snowmobiles as they are more comfortable on them. We will have 2 snowmobiles available but if everyone opts to use them the course will take a substantial amount of time to complete. Please bring your own snowmobile.
