Is That The Season?

Saturday March 8th was a good day to ride:
  • Temps were low 20’s – mid 30’s by late afternoon.
  • Trails were still in good condition.
  • Nice sunny day, no wind.
  • Not too many riders out in the morning, but by late afternoon / early evening the watering holes were packed.
  • Many riders were coming down from metro, where conditions were worse.

THEN Sunday March 9th; the temps continued to rise and never dropped much even in the evening. 35º, 40º, 45º… even a few sprinkles of rain occurred. A big melt is on!

CONDITIONS: Poor   ditches filling with water, trail snow melting rapidly, creeks and rivers opening up, fields are bare with dirt showing. The large drifts are still standing fairly tall, but melting underneath.

SNOWMOBILE RIDING DISCOURAGED UNFORTUNATELY

WEATHER PREDICTION:
Tuesday 11th chance of snow mixed with rain 1″ possible.
Wednesday 12th flurries in the morning temps dropping to high teens
Thursday 13th temps rising again through the weekend.
Tuesday 18th rain changing to freezing mix.
